Welcome to the online event about 30 years of European Beer Consumers’ Union!
More than 30 years ago, EBCU was established to preserve the diversity of traditional European beer cultures, to protect consumers from unfair prices being imposed through unreasonable taxation or unreasonable trade practices and to ensure that consumers receive the best information about beer.
We are proud to say that we are increasingly meaningful in Europe both through our national organisations and through the umbrella EBCU.
Despite Covid-19, we don’t want to let our anniversary pass by, and we cordially invite you to participate to our online event during which we will look back on 30 years of EBCU. We will start this event with a toast to EBCU and continue with a tasting of several beers from countries that founded the EBCU, interspersed with a discussion panel about the past and future of the EBCU.
This event will take place on Saturday, September 25th, starting time 3oo PM (CET)
During this event, you will meet persons who have been involved in the work of European Beer Consumers’ Union over the years, and of course they will raise a toast, participate in the debate, and answer your questions.

If you got the special beer-box, and the Spiegelau® tasting glass, please be prepared. Cool the beers in a proper way, the first toast for “30 years of EBCU” will bee right after the event starts. But any beers can be used to celebrate
The event is arranged around a ZOOM account. Please follow the basic roles of participating such a meeting. Fill in your name (and organisation) and keep your microphone muted when not speaking. A sober language in writing and speaking is a matter of course. The meeting will be recorded and shared on this page afterwards. – see you in cyberspace !
