The European Beer Consumers Union (EBCU), the advocate for European beer enthusiasts, proudly announces its official endorsement of Kraft Roku, Poland’s premier craft beer competition. This endorsement reflects the competition’s adherence to EBCU’s high standards in judging and celebrates Poland’s influential position within Europe’s brewing landscape.

Mateusz Puślecki, technical judge of KPR Kraft Roku 2024, shared his enthusiasm for the endorsement: “Kraft Roku 2024 is the 17th edition of the largest and oldest craft beer competition in Poland. Since the first edition, we have tried to develop the event and respond to the needs of the market in terms of diversity and richness of styles. At the same time, the event is very attractive in terms of promotion for the medal winners in our country.”

André Brunnsberg, Chairman of the EBCU, commented on the endorsement: “Kraft Roku exemplifies the integrity and excellence we seek in beer competitions across Europe. With a judging panel from around the world, the competition operates with impressive professionalism. We see Poland as a pivotal brewing nation in Europe, and Kraft Roku brings deserved recognition to the depth and quality of Polish beer.”

Kraft Roku has grown into a prominent national competition that celebrates a vast range of styles, from IPAs and Pils to historical brews unique to Poland. In the 2023 edition, 810 entries from 121 breweries across Poland were evaluated by a 46-member jury from twelve different countries, including the USA, Japan, and the UK.

As Puślecki explains, “Last year’s edition introduced Special Awards for the best breweries in themes, such as hopped beers, lagers, and dark beers, etc. This year there will be two new themes: Polish hops and dominators (categories with the highest number of entries). In addition, at least half of the judges are from Poland and half from abroad – this helps even more strongly to objectively evaluate the beers. A new feature will be that the winners of a few categories will be able to enter their beers on promotional terms in the most important competitions in Europe: Brussels Beer Challenge and the European Beer Star.”

EBCU’s endorsement underscores Kraft Roku’s commitment to objective judging and operational transparency, aligning closely with EBCU’s core principles. This endorsement further establishes Kraft Roku as an esteemed and respected platform in the global beer community.
